Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Electrical Cost Estimator to join our team, responsible for overseeing high-impact projects, driving profitability, and mitigating risks. As a key member of our commercial operations team, you will contribute to our continued expansion and success.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record in the electrical, construction, or maintenance industries, with excellent financial acumen, negotiation and contract management skills, and effective leadership and team management capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Cost Estimation and Budget Management: Develop and manage project estimates, budgets, and financial forecasts, ensuring financial targets are met and exceeded.
- Tender and Bid Management: Lead the preparation, submission, and management of tenders and bids, developing strategies for success and ensuring timely, accurate, and competitive proposals.
- Contract Management and Negotiation: Review, negotiate, and manage contracts to secure favourable terms, ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory standards.
- Supplier and Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and clients, negotiating optimal terms and ensuring service quality.
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Oversee project performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as needed. Provide regular commercial reports to senior management.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify and mitigate potential risks in commercial activities, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Team Leadership and Collaboration: Guide and motivate teams to deliver project objectives efficiently, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Required Skills and Qualifications
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience in an electrical estimator/commercial management role within the electrical, construction, or maintenance sectors.
- Negotiation and Contract Management: Proficient in negotiating and managing commercial contracts, with a strong understanding of contract law.
- Financial Acumen: Excellent financial acumen with proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Leadership and Team Management: Effective leadership and team management capabilities.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for building strong client and supplier relationships.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
