Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled and compassionate Prison Registered General Nurse to provide high-quality patient care to individuals with complex needs. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Learning Disability Nursing, Children's Nursing, or Mental Health Nursing and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a personal caseload of patients diagnosed with Learning Disabilities or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), conducting initial assessments, developing care plans, and implementing follow-up procedures.
  • Participate in processes designed to support patients at risk of self-harm or suicide, adhering to established policy and NICE Guidance.
  • Attend monthly supervision sessions with your line manager and complete annual Employee Development Reviews (EDR) to evaluate targets, progress, and learning objectives.
  • Provide training and advice to staff on the care of patients with Learning Disabilities.
  • Assist in organizing and conducting awareness days and workshops led by the Primary Care Mental Health Team (PCMHT), collaborating with the team to enhance these initiatives.
  • Attend and contribute to weekly Integrated Mental Health Team Referral meetings to ensure a coordinated approach in managing at-risk patients.

Requirements:

  • Valid NMC registration
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development in clinical practice
  • Possession of a valid driving licence
