Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Systems Architect to join our team at Ultra. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing complex systems and solutions that meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply technical and professional knowledge to identify opportunities and drive revenue growth.
  • Collaborate with business development, senior leadership, and engineering teams to develop and implement solutions.
  • Define and quantify opportunities throughout the ITN, RFI/P/Q, and gated process.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Systems Engineering approaches, including ISO15288.
  • Design and deliver proposed bid solutions, including logical, functional, and physical architectures.
  • Develop and implement cost and risk-based approaches to identify partnering options and drive concept decision making.
  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers, providing technical guidance and support.
  • Support the development and implementation of engineering and Systems Engineering capability improvements.

Requirements

  • Experience with architectural design and development.
  • Deep knowledge of the Systems Engineering lifecycle and various development models.
  • Experience with strategy, planning, and design of complex solutions.
  • Proven experience with Systems Engineering techniques, including modeling and needs definition.
  • Ability to identify business growth and development opportunities.
  • Experience with integration strategies and frameworks, as well as tools and technologies.
  • Hands-on expertise in areas such as Command & Control Defence systems, sensors, communications, encryption, land/maritime/airborne capability.
  • Excellent customer and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to define and realise technical/capability demonstration solutions.
  • Proven line management, technical leadership, and mentoring skills.
