Energy Analyst Job Description

Gold Group Limited is seeking a highly skilled Energy Analyst to join our Energy Intelligence team in East London. As an Energy Analyst, you will play a crucial role in driving business decisions by analyzing and interpreting energy data.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and report on plant physical performance, including thermal and cooling efficiencies, electrical efficiencies, operational regimes, and plant outputs.
  • Develop and maintain data collection systems to enable effective internal and external reporting.
  • Investigate and improve system losses, including thermal and electrical losses, parasitic loads, and other inefficiencies.
  • Report on energy efficiency and financial performance of energy sales.
  • Identify adverse trends and opportunities for improvements in energy efficiency.
  • Analyze energy schemes trends and performance, diagnosing and making recommendations for rectification to ensure consistent and efficient energy delivery.
  • Calculate energy revenues and costs.
  • Review data and compare with bulk data from the Energy Intelligence team.
  • Check consumer consumptions against benchmarking data and budgets.
  • Monitor system data for gaps, spikes, and issues.
  • Attend customer energy meetings and produce client reports as required.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2:1 degree level in Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent Engineering Discipline.
  • Demonstrable competence in Microsoft Excel.
  • Understanding of district energy and CHP principles.
  • Heating and cooling system design experience, including generation systems such as CHP, Biomass, Boilers, etc.
  • Positive and proactive approach to tasks.
  • Knowledge of Controls, VSDs, and Metering Systems.
  • Member of a professional Institute and working towards chartership.
