Role Overview

Abbott Diabetes Care is seeking a highly skilled Senior Operations Manager to lead our Manufacturing Unit in Witney. As a key member of our Operations team, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the operation, ensuring activities are performed in a manner that supports a Manufacturing Centre of Excellence, Good Manufacturing Practice, and best in class working practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop a team of employees and leaders within area of responsibility and be accountable for their performance while providing direction to ensure product availability, maintaining regulatory compliance, and optimising productivity.
  • Deliver quality and compliant product on time, in full, and cost-effectively to meet the needs of the business and customers, in a manner that supports core values and behaviours of the UK Operational Excellence ideals, and a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate optimisation of the production area by directing support staff, such as leads, Engineering, Schedulers, QA, and technical personnel.
  • Monitor on a regular basis and be responsible for the overall quality of the product and documentation produced by the Manufacturing Unit.
  • Ensure compliance with EHS regulations and Abbott standards by adhering to and maintaining EHS systems, programmes, procedures that manage EHS risk, and by demonstrating leadership and commitment through actions and provision of sufficient resources.
  • Support and drive rapid and compliant transfer/start-up of new products and processes in the Manufacturing Unit.

Requirements

To be successful, you will need to have completed Secondary Level education and be able to demonstrate exposure to Operations/Manufacturing environments, including working knowledge of GMP, Technical, and Quality requirements, ideally within a regulated environment.

You will be a natural people leader, with proven experience in 2nd line management, including strategy, resource planning, financials, etc. Reflecting our culture of identifying and harnessing talent, you will bring proven experience of developing, mentoring, and coaching your team to support employee growth and career development.
