Tobacco Addiction Intervention Specialist

About the Role:
- As a Tobacco Addiction Intervention Specialist with Change Grow Live, you will be responsible for promoting smoking cessation services to various agencies and organisations, utilising diverse venues and events.
- You will provide tailored support to individuals seeking to become smoke-free through one-on-one sessions, group work, drop-in services, and telephone assistance.
- Key tasks include undertaking assessments, developing and delivering interventions, including nicotine replacement therapies, under Prescribed Goods Directions (PGDs) and administering pharmacotherapy options as required.
- In addition, you will design and deliver training and intervention programmes across multiple settings for targeted groups, fostering therapeutic alliances with individuals requiring tobacco addiction support.
- A strong partnership focus is essential in building effective working relationships across delivery localities.
- Risk assessments and contributions to risk management plans are also integral components of this role.
- Accurate recording and inputting of client data into the Quit Manager system is crucial in meeting contractual, administrative, and financial requirements.

About You:
- A first-level registered nurse with recent relevant post-qualification experience and a current PIN is essential. Newly qualified nurses are welcomed to apply.
- Non-medical prescribing skills or willingness to undertake training are necessary.
- A sound understanding of working within PGDs is vital.
- Specific tobacco addiction training may be required, and candidates should demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in response to changing demands.
- Experience in contributing to project development is desirable.
- Motivational interviewing techniques, behaviour change knowledge, and communication skills are highly valued.
- The ability to formulate treatment plans, written reports, and communicate effectively is critical.
- A compassionate, respectful approach, maintaining dignity and wellbeing, and responding flexibly to post demands are core aspects of this role.
Estimated salary: £35,000 - £42,000 per annum, dependent on location and experience.
