About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Haematologist to join our team at the Isle of Wight NHS Trust. As a key member of our Haematology department, you will be responsible for providing a comprehensive and efficient clinical haematology service to our patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical haematology care to out-patients, day cases, and inpatients, working within a multidisciplinary team structure.
- Offer liaison and clinical advice on haematology test results, anticoagulation, and blood transfusion to hospital and primary care physicians.
- Review and authorise blood films referred by biomedical scientists for second opinion.
- Participate in clinical governance and clinical audit.
- Share in the consultant haematology on-call rota.
- Contribute to undergraduate education and the training of postgraduate trainees in haematology.
- Contribute to the research output and administration needs of the department.
Requirements
- Full registration and licence to practise with the GMC and be on the Specialist Register in Haematology (or be eligible for registration within six months of interview).
- Applicants that are UK trained must also be a holder of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or be within six months of award of CCT by date of interview.
- Applicants that are non-UK trained will be required to show evidence of equivalence to the UK CCT.
