Product Safety Specialist

Job Title: Product Safety Specialist
At Leonardo, we are seeking a Product Safety Specialist to join our Supportability team. This role involves working across the full engineering lifecycle, with a focus on developing Safety and Environmental Impact Management programmes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Influencing design by analysis of Safety and Environmental aspects and developing Safety requirements
- Working across the full engineering lifecycle with a focus on developing Safety and Environmental Impact Management programmes
- Equipment Failure Modes Effects & Criticality Analysis (FMECA)
- Safety Hazard Identification and Safety Management including Fault Tree Analysis
- Working in, or knowledge of, the disciplines of Reliability, Maintainability and Testability
- Working with MIL-STD-882; Def Stan 00-051, 00-055, 00-056, 00-970; MAA Regulatory Articles
- Understanding of BS EN61010 and BS EN6095; and RTCA DO-178 and DO-254 would be desirable
- Problem solving and managing potentially conflicting inputs from multiple stakeholder groups
- Creation of beneficial relationships with cross-functional colleagues, customers, and suppliers
Requirements:
- Engineering or science-based Honours degree
- Relevant experience in industry, defence, or a related field
- Effective and flexible communication skills
- Ability to prepare coherently structured reports and present the outcome of safety analysis
