Job Title: VMware Administrator

Job Summary:

Vallum Associates is seeking a highly skilled VMware Administrator to join our team. As a VMware Administrator, you will be responsible for designing and implementing technology solutions based on VMware products, providing support for escalated performance issues, and identifying opportunities for improvement across the Virtualization platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and manage deployment, reporting, and project solutions with scripting, automation, and orchestration tools.
  2. Design and implement technology solutions based on VMware products and provide support for escalated performance issues.
  3. Identify opportunities, develop solutions, and drive improvements across the Virtualization platforms.
  4. Collaborate with the wider Design and architecture teams to contribute to solution designs and develop standards.
  5. Define, deploy, and manage processes and tools for continuous integration, test-driven development, and release management.
  6. Develop expertise in writing vRO workflows, configuration, and integration with external/3rd party tools.
  7. Develop good coding skills in major languages such as Java, Python, or PowerShell.
  8. Develop knowledge of Terraform Platform.
  9. Develop experience in automating infrastructure systems (Windows/Linux, etc.).
  10. Develop integration skills for various platforms (X86, OS, Virtualization, etc.).
  11. Develop financial domain experience.
  12. Develop architecture solutions to develop Self-Service Portal and Infrastructure automation.

Desirable Skills:

  • Proven ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Perform knowledge transfer and mentoring of staff.
  • Ability to work effectively with distributed teams.
  • Ability to work in high-pressure, highly flexible environments against both short and long-term objectives.
  • Passionate about technology and solving IT operations-focused problems.
  • Must be detail-oriented, task-driven, and have excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with staff, peers, and others in and outside the organization to accomplish goals, objectives, and to identify and resolve problems.
  • Multiple Hypervisors experience, to be able to manage independently.
  • Have worked in global teams and have led large transformations technically.

Requirements:

  • Total IT Experience should be at least 10 years, and out of that, 5 years of exclusive experience on automation.
  • Must have experience with VRA/VRO & Ansible.
