About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at NELFT NHS Foundation Trust. As an Education Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties in educational settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work in partnership with schools to deliver evidence-based individual and group interventions to children and young people.
  • Conduct robust assessments, risk assessments, care plans, and reviews to ensure the best possible outcomes for our service users.
  • Use Routine Outcome Measures (ROMS) and clinical tools to gather feedback and guide clinical practice.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with education colleagues, other EMHPs/CWPs, and Senior Mental Health Practitioners to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Support the development of whole school approaches to improve mental health outcomes for children and young people.
Requirements
  • Successful completion of the HEE/NHSE commissioned 1yr Education Mental Health Practitioner' course/Children's Wellbeing Practitioner course.
  • Appropriate registration with either the BABCP or BPS as a low intensity practitioner.
  • Experience of delivering specific therapeutic interventions to children, young people, or their families (CBT, solution-focused brief therapy).
  • Ability to conduct mental health assessments, risk assessments, and communicate appropriately with children, young people, and parents.
