Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Cleaning and Catering Operative in Malton. As a key member of our Facilities Management Team, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of our facilities, as well as providing a catering service to our patients.
Main Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the designated area, including lifting items and operating cleaning machinery.
- Undertaking specialist cleaning tasks as required, under the guidance of the Facilities Supervisor and/or Nurse in Charge and/or Infection Prevention Department.
- Assisting with the distribution of meals to wards and plating up of meals to meet the dietary requirements of patients.
- Making and distributing hot drinks and cleaning and refilling water jugs.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Good basic education, including reading and writing plus basic numeric skills.
- A basic understanding or a willingness to complete appropriate qualifications and training, including knowledge of cleaning procedures, COSSH procedures, infection prevention and control, Food Hygiene Level 2, relevant water systems training, and use of equipment such as regeneration ovens, dishwashers, and floor machinery.
