Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team of support staff in schools. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with SEN in a 1:1 or small group setting, providing tailored support to meet their individual needs.
  • Assist teachers in preparing classroom resources and materials, ensuring that students with SEN have access to the same opportunities as their peers.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with SEN.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to students with SEN, helping them to build confidence and self-esteem.
  • Contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting the well-being and happiness of all students.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with young people with Special Educational Needs.
  • Proactive and organized, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion and drive for education, with a commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of students with SEN.
  • Ability to work well in a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to meeting the needs of students and staff.
  • Confidence in supporting students 1:1, with a patient and empathetic approach to working with students with SEN.
