Group Senior Cloud and Infrastructure Engineer

Bellway Homes is seeking a highly skilled Group Senior Cloud and Infrastructure Engineer to join our IT department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting the Group Head of IT Infrastructure in delivering our IT roadmap and strategy.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience in Microsoft Windows server administration, Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy administration, and Microsoft 365 product stack knowledge. You will also have experience in working with Amazon Web Services (EC2, VPC, S3, RDS etc) and have current certifications in Microsoft and Amazon Web Services.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide quality technical support to senior management and exec team
  2. Design and implement new IT technical solutions in line with our IT roadmap and strategy
  3. Manage your own workload and time
  4. Execute live changes to data and software in a controlled manner via approved change management procedures
  5. Suggest technical and process improvements to colleagues and managers and implement them as directed/approved
  6. Mentor and develop the Infrastructure Team
  7. Assist the Group Head of IT Infrastructure with the development of internal SLA's and system availability/uptime reporting
  8. Assist in the testing and delivery of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery procedures
  9. Ensure all risks are documented and reported to the Group Head of IT Infrastructure and/or Group IT Director
  10. Provide leadership and day-to-day management to the Infrastructure Team in the absence of the Group Head of IT Infrastructure
  11. Work with and establish relationships with third-party service providers
  12. Demonstrate documentation skills (reports, policies, procedures, workflows)
  13. Occasional travel across the UK where required

Requirements:

  1. Significant Microsoft Windows 2012 through to 2019 server administration skills
  2. Significant Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy administration experience
  3. Significant Microsoft 365 product stack knowledge and administration experience
  4. Microsoft SQL 2012 through to 2017 maintenance and administration experience
  5. Microsoft DHCP (Failover scopes) and DNS administration skills
  6. Microsoft IIS administration skills
  7. Understanding of Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery
  8. Understanding of networking and experience of diagnosing network-related issues
  9. Understanding of VLANS, routing protocols, switch administration
  10. Knowledge and experience of working with Amazon Web Services (EC2, VPC, S3, RDS etc)
