Forensic Psychiatrist Role

Join our team as a Consultant Psychiatrist with expertise in forensic psychiatry and learning disabilities. We are seeking an experienced professional to lead our Specialist Community Forensic Team at Hollins Park House in Warrington.
About the RoleThis is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires a deep understanding of the needs of individuals with learning disabilities and/or autism who have offended or are at risk of offending.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with in-patient services, support step-down and recovery in the community, and apply a proactive risk management approach to enable service users to fulfill their individual potential.
We estimate that the salary for this role will be around £108,000 per annum, plus benefits.
Main Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with in-patient services to reduce length of stay
- Support step down and recovery in the community
- Apply a proactive risk management approach to enable service users to fulfill their individual potential
- Apply specialist forensic skills and knowledge to prevent admission and re-admission, including the role of Clinical Supervisor when supporting people who are Conditionally Discharged
- Delivery of offence specific therapeutic interventions
- Ensure robust multi-agency involvement to ensure public/community safety
Requirements:
- Eligible for inclusion in Specialist Register or within 6 months of gaining CCT
- CCT in Psychiatry
- Knowledge and experience of assessing and treating individuals with learning disability and/or autism
- Treating individuals with forensic needs
- Flexible and tolerant
- Awareness of current issues in mental health service provision, Transforming Care policy and legislation
