Residential Childcare Worker

As a Residential Childcare Worker - Learning Disabilities, you will play a vital role in supporting our residents to achieve their full potential. This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires patience, understanding, and a passion for delivering person-centred care. You will be part of a dynamic team that is committed to making a positive difference in the lives of our residents.
About the Job
This is a full-time position that involves working a shift pattern, which includes evenings, nights, weekends, and bank holidays. You will be required to work collaboratively with other members of the team to deliver high-quality care that meets the individual needs of each resident. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with learning disabilities and will hold or be working towards the Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (England).
Responsibilities
• Provide daily support to residents, promoting their physical, emotional, and educational well-being.
• Develop relationships with residents and provide emotional support when needed.
• Assist with morning routines such as getting ready for school and making sure they have a good breakfast.
• Prepare evening meals and ensure the young person has a safe space to relax and unwind within the home.
• Work in partnership with parents and other professionals and use a range of communication skills.
• Contribute to the overall well-being of the residents and the smooth running of the home.

Requirements
• Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (England) or equivalent qualification.
• Experience working with children with learning disabilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other members of the team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to delivering person-centred care.
• Willingness to work a shift pattern, including evenings, nights, weekends, and bank holidays.
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this role is £23,000-£25,000 per annum, depending on experience.
