Job Overview

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Optical Component Testing
  • Perform detailed testing of lasers, photodiodes, modulators, and optical amplifiers using advanced equipment
  • Conduct fibre-optic testing including insertion loss and polarisation mode dispersion
  • Utilize precision instruments to measure optical parameters
Data Analysis and Report Generation
  • Analyze test data to identify trends, inconsistencies, and potential issues
  • Compile comprehensive test reports and present findings
  • Provide recommendations for process improvements
Troubleshooting and Problem Solving
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to optical component performance
  • Collaborate with R&D and manufacturing teams to resolve technical issues and optimize product designs

Requirements and Expectations

  1. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Optical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Physics, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
  2. Proficiency with optical testing equipment (OTDRs, optical spectrum analyzers, power meters)
  3. Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  4. Strong problem-solving abilities
  5. Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
  6. Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  7. Experience with data analysis software and report generation

Benefits and Compensation

We offer a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package that includes 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, competitive company pension contribution, company bonus scheme, Health Cash Plan, and opportunities for professional development and training.
