About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Building Surveyor to lead our team of dedicated professionals in delivering an efficient and effective repairs and maintenance service across our extensive property portfolio.

As a Senior Building Surveyor, you will be responsible for ensuring that all work aligns with our high standards, statutory requirements, and key performance indicators. This includes value for money, contractor management, property standards, major works, quality assurance, and project management.

You will have a deep understanding of residential property maintenance, procurement, contractor management, and best practices. You will also be responsible for planning your own workload of support sessions and property visits, as well as committing to helping you learn and develop your career.

Key Responsibilities
  • Value for Money: Secure cost-effective solutions through effective procurement, negotiation, and communication with contractors and stakeholders.
  • Contractor Management: Ensure an adequate and competent pool of contractors to meet our maintenance needs, holding them accountable for their performance and work quality.
  • Property Standards: Ensure Nacro's properties meet required standards through a programme of inspections and implementation of programme of works.
  • Major Works: Lead on significant repairs and improvements, ensuring compliance with building regulations, planning requirements, and CDM regulations.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure robust specifications for high-value repairs are produced, scrutinise contractor responses, and implement a rigorous programme of post-inspections.
  • Project Management: Oversee, through the team of surveyors, high-value works, ensuring timely and budget-compliant completion.
Requirements
  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • DBS (completed as part of the pre-employment screening process).
