We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Consultant in Haematology to join our team at the North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will complement our team of existing haematologists and nurses, providing level 2A Clinical Haematology care for our patients.

The post will be based at the Cumberland Infirmary, with working arrangements covering West Cumberland Hospital. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work as part of an integrated service, providing high-quality care to our patients.

About the Role

The Consultant in Haematology will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and expertise in the diagnosis and management of haematological disorders. The successful candidate will work closely with our nursing and administrative teams to ensure the smooth running of our haematology service.

Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of the Consultant in Haematology will include:

  • Providing clinical leadership and expertise in the diagnosis and management of haematological disorders
  • Working closely with our nursing and administrative teams to ensure the smooth running of our haematology service
  • Participating in the development and implementation of our haematology service strategy
  • Providing teaching and training to undergraduate and postgraduate medical staff
  • Contributing to the development of our research and audit activities

Person Specification

The successful candidate will have:

  • Full and Specialist registration with the General Medical Council (GMC)
  • Experience of working in a haematology service
  • High standard of clinical skill and expertise in haematology
  • Ability to advise on the efficient and smooth running of our haematology service
  • Demonstrable evidence of lifelong learning and a reflective approach to personal development
