About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Commissioning Editor to join our Commercial Fiction team at Hachette UK. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving commercial acquisitions and growing our print and digital list.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Publishing Director to develop and implement a refreshed strategy for the Commercial Fiction team
  • Acquire and publish commercial fiction titles across various genres, including general fiction, romance, crime, and thriller
  • Work closely with authors, agents, and internal teams to ensure high-quality publishing and strong relationships
  • Contribute to meetings and brainstorms to develop new ideas and initiatives
  • Liaise with internal teams to ensure efficient and effective publishing processes
Requirements
  • Proven track record of commercial fiction publishing and a strong understanding of the market
  • Excellent author and agent relationships, with a ability to build and maintain strong relationships
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to drive sales and revenue growth
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
