About the Role

We are currently recruiting for an Engineering Resource Coordinator to join our Highways Team working on the Norfolk Highways project of works. The role is based at our Tarmac Norwich site, in Norfolk and is easily commutable from surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work strategically on the works programme and contractors resource planning and application, ensuring optimal utilisation of company's resources, supporting the Operations, and Programme and Resource Manager.
  • Liaise with Agents and Supervisors to identify and effectively manage allocation of operational resources to ensure safe and successful delivery of the schemes works program, routine works and bridges.
  • Support in all aspects of scheme identification, development and planning to ensure the budget is effectively delivered.
  • Manage the allocation of resources, including internal, supply chain and agency personnel to ensure successful delivery of programme.
  • Develop Scheme documentation along with Traffic management proposals.
  • Effectively plan and programming of the works.
  • Assist Contracts Managers in the delivery of workstreams.
  • Support the management of the programmes and contractors resource plan which is agreed, maintained and communicated contract wide.

Requirements

  • Good organisational and people management skills.
  • Experience in a people scheduling or resource planning environment would prove highly beneficial.
  • Commercial and Contractual awareness would prove advantageous along with persuasiveness and negotiating skills.
  • Good interpersonal relationship skills with confident, resilient approach.
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and oral at all levels.
  • IT Literate Word Excel, Project, and PowerPoint.
  • Operational technical Knowledge (e.g., material types, plant, etc) - not essential.
  • Ability to be proactive and to use initiative.
