Community Forensic Learning Disability Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Specialist Community Forensic Team (SCFT) in Cheshire and Merseyside. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality psychiatric services to individuals with learning disabilities and forensic needs.
As an Approved Clinician and Responsible Clinician, you will be responsible for ensuring that service users receive comprehensive care through risk assessments, management, and specialist interventions.
Main Responsibilities- Fulfilling Community Responsible Clinician duties for patients accepted into the SCFT.
- Participating in regular MDT meetings, CPA reviews, MAPPA, safeguarding, risk reviews, and providing clinical leadership as a Responsible Clinician.
- Delivering offence-specific therapeutic interventions and collaborating with in-patient services to reduce length of stay.
- Ensuring robust multi-agency involvement for public/community safety.
At North West Boroughs Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, we provide specialist inpatient and community services supporting physical and mental health. Our commitment to 'perfect care' drives our delivery of safe, effective, positively experienced, timely, equitable, and efficient services.
This part-time role is supported by a designated medical secretary and requires close collaboration with Cheshire and Merseyside Learning Disability services and Mersey Care Forensic LD services.
Requirements- Eligibility for inclusion in the Specialist Register or within 6 months of gaining CCT.
- CCT in Psychiatry.
- Knowledge and experience of assessing and treating individuals with learning disability and/or autism.
- Treating individuals with forensic needs.
This exciting opportunity offers a salary of £105,504 - £139,882 per annum, pro rata, plus 10% R&R (non-contractual). We also offer flexible working requests, access to continuous professional development, and opportunities for education, research, audit, and service improvement.
