Key Responsibilities

The Nutrition & Restaurant Food Safety Manager will be responsible for the delivery of the McDonald's UK & Ireland Public Health Strategy and Food Safety priorities. This role will support and protect customers and the brand, while driving business and brand initiatives. The successful candidate will provide insights into emerging food safety and nutrition issues, and lead a team to achieve key objectives.

Technical Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of the Public Health Strategy through collaboration with Senior Management.
  • Ensure delivery of external and internal nutrition commitments, including implementation and monitoring of key nutrition metrics.
  • Work collaboratively with Food Development to support innovation in health.
  • Provide proactive and reactive support for the development and approval of nutrition communication tools, materials, and messaging.
  • Translate complex scientific information to a wide range of audiences.

Food Safety Responsibilities

  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure Food Safety is prioritised as part of projects and initiatives.
  • Drive the business Food Safety priorities, ensuring the correct stakeholders are engaged.
  • Lead and develop Food Safety projects from conception to launch.
  • Manage Food Safety incidents, aligning closely with cross-functional teams.
  • Liaise with Primary Authority, building and maintaining a collaborative relationship.
  • Investigate any food safety non-compliance and incidents.

Requirements

  • Degree in Food Science, Nutrition, or related science.
  • UK Registered Nutritionist.
  • HACCP level 3.
  • Extensive experience within the food industry in a nutrition, technical, or regulatory role, driving strategy and large projects.
  • Experience of managing a team.
  • Experience of UK & Ireland (EU) food policy, nutrition policy, and labelling legislation.
