Aquatics Therapy Assistant Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Aquatics Therapy Assistant to join our team at Ad Warrior. As an Aquatics Therapy Assistant, you will play a vital role in facilitating the delivery of our Aquatics programs and providing exceptional care to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the delivery of Aquatics programs and sessions, working closely with our physiotherapy team to ensure high-quality care.
  • Provide personal care and safety to our clients, ensuring their well-being and dignity at all times.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Aquatics programs, working collaboratively with our team to achieve our goals.
  • Evaluate learning outcomes and maintain accurate records of achievements, using this data to inform future program development.
  • Assist with assessments for recognition of the Chailey Aquatics Awards Scheme, ensuring our clients receive the recognition they deserve.
  • Work alongside Education Assistants to lead alternative physical activities when aquatic sessions are unable to take place.
  • Be aware of the health and medical needs of our clients, taking steps to ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Assist clients with getting ready for swimming and support them in showering and changing after sessions.
  • Have awareness of manual handling risk assessments, ensuring all staff and volunteers are aware of individual clients' needs.
  • Liaise with nursing staff to ensure the health and medical needs of our clients are met.
  • Follow all health and safety protocols to ensure the safety of our clients and staff.
Requirements:
  • GCSE Grade C or above in English and Maths, or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a care setting or working with people with disabilities or complex needs.
  • Must be a strong swimmer and have the appropriate level of fitness required to maintain the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification.
  • Good awareness of Health and Safety responsibilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and use your own initiative when required.
  • Good team work attitude.
  • Passion for aquatics and supporting young people and adults in hydrotherapy and providing high-quality self-care.
  • Good communication skills.
