Financial Operations Manager

As a key member of the Support team, you will play a vital role in championing business process and controls, analysing data to identify performance improvements, building an informative reporting structure, and engaging with the wider business to improve financial understanding and performance. This role requires a candidate who is driven to roll up their sleeves and immerse themselves in business operations to position themselves and the team as key business partners.

About the Role

  • Manage the day-to-day accounts function, focusing on deadlines, automation, and control processes.
  • Produce high-quality financial reporting, including profit and cash flow forecasts, budget production, management accounts, external benchmarking, and other relevant metrics to facilitate key management decisions.
  • Coach and provide feedback to operational managers to drive understanding of their financial responsibilities.
  • Engage with the wider team to encourage improvement and drive business collaboration.
  • Build key financial relationships, including those with banks, external auditors, property managers, insurance providers, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Continuously refine compliance and risk management approaches.
  • Proactively manage tax compliance and planning, including PAYE, VAT, and corporation tax.
  • Manage fixed assets and the company property portfolio.
  • Contribute to wider company and organizational matters.
  • Lead and develop the finance team to support their career development and build business collaboration.

Requirements

  • Development and support of business process improvement.
  • Experience in developing and managing a team.
  • Wide range of practical financial skills, including advanced Excel, financial reporting, scorecard development, and data transformation improvement.
  • Professional finance qualification.
  • Ability to interpret and organize large amounts of data through spreadsheets.
  • Ability to engage and influence at a senior level within the organization and externally.

This is a full-time position, based at our offices in St Eval/Padstow (Hybrid working 4 days' work based, 1-day WFH)
