We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Forensic Psychologist to join our Community Forensic Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (FCAMHS) team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialist psychological assessments, advice, and consultation to children and young people with complex mental health needs.
Key Responsibilities- Provide specialist psychological assessments of children and young people, using a range of complex psychological data and techniques.
- Develop and implement psychologically informed formulations, consultation, and advice to support the care and treatment of children and young people.
- Exercise autonomous clinical responsibility for implementing a range of psychological interventions, adjusting and reformulating as necessary.
- Complete specialist structured risk assessments, drawing on highly specialist knowledge of forensic factors.
- Supervise the delivery of psychological interventions as part of multi-disciplinary care planning.
- Communicate highly confidential and personal information to children, young people, and their families, using skilled and sensitive communication techniques.
- Assess and manage complex risk situations, ensuring the safety and well-being of children and young people.
- Produce timely and comprehensive clinical and forensic reports, conveying complex analysis and recommendations to relevant audiences.
- Support safe and effective transitions between community and custodial settings, ensuring access to appropriate services and coordination.
- Advocate and challenge on behalf of children and young people, ensuring access to support and services that meet their needs.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a range of professionals, including psychologists, psychiatrists, and social workers, to support the care and treatment of children and young people.
