We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Physiotherapist to join our team in Brent. As a Specialist Physiotherapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality physiotherapy services to children and young people with physical needs in a variety of settings, including special schools, nurseries, and community clinics.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will have a strong background in paediatric physiotherapy, including experience working with children with additional needs. You will be responsible for leading the Special Schools Physiotherapy Service in Brent, working collaboratively with the local Child Developmental Team, Education, and Social Care services. You will provide a high-quality service to children and young people aged 0 to 19 years, undertaking specialist physiotherapy assessments and devising client-centred treatment interventions.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the Special Schools Physiotherapy Service in Brent
- Provide high-quality physiotherapy services to children and young people with physical needs
- Work collaboratively with the local Child Developmental Team, Education, and Social Care services
- Undertake specialist physiotherapy assessments and devise client-centred treatment interventions
- Provide a leadership role to SEN pathways for preschool and school-age CYP and support staff through appraisal and in-service training
- Contribute to the development of physiotherapy clinical pathways and care packages
- Coordinate physiotherapy services to CYP transitioning from preschool to school and into adult services
- Valid Health and Care Professions Council Registration
- Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
- Member of the Association of Paediatric Chartered Physiotherapists
- Substantial experience as a Band 6 physiotherapist in Paediatrics
- Postgraduate experience covering core rotations
- Knowledge/experience in the use of relevant assessment and treatment approaches, including the use of standardised assessments
- Experience in contributing to policy, procedures, guidelines, and clinical standards development
- Experience in training/teaching healthcare professionals
- Appropriate postgraduate experience working with CYP with SEN/physical disabilities
- Experience working in Special/Mainstream Schools
- Experience in conducting audits and/or research
- Experience in setting up new projects/initiatives
- A comprehensive induction into the community service followed by a local induction to introduce you to the role
