Job Summary:

MRD Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Manager to lead our Logistics Client's depot operations in Uddingston. As a key member of the management team, you will be responsible for driving business growth, improving efficiency, and ensuring exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve business objectives and improve operational performance.
  • Lead and manage a team of depot staff, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities to ensure high performance and engagement.
  • Monitor and control depot costs, ensuring compliance with budget and financial targets.
  • Collaborate with the Logistics Manager to develop and implement effective logistics and transportation strategies.
  • Ensure the depot operates in accordance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and other business units.
  • Manage and control working time hours, ensuring compliance with WTD and AWR regulations.
  • Ensure the depot offers exceptional customer service, meeting or exceeding customer expectations.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar role, with a strong track record of leadership and operational management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and motivate others.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, to meet business needs.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • IOSH qualification and CPC National Certificate desirable.
