About the Role

We are seeking a talented Environmental Sustainability professional to join our team as Environmental Sustainability Director. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the development and integration of our environmental and energy management system while meeting client and stakeholder needs.

About the Job

You will be working in partnership with HS2, Laing O'Rourke is responsible for the final design, construction, and commissioning of the new HS2 Interchange Station. Be part of this prestigious project and lead the development of our environmental and energy management system while meeting our client and stakeholder's needs.

Key Deliverables
  1. Support the business in driving our ambitions to push the boundaries of sustainability, helping us to achieve our goal to be a net zero company delivering nature positive solutions with teams that represent our diverse society.
  2. Promote the environmental initiatives aligned with our sustainability strategy such as carbon reduction, waste minimisation, and the protection and enhancement of nature.
  3. Build trusting collaborative relationships with project delivery teams, clients, and stakeholders and fully understand the client context and deliver against their needs.
  4. Implement the LOR Energy and Environmental Management System.
  5. Manage the environmental risks, deliverables, and requirements, involving our design team and delivery teams by appropriately identifying risk mitigation and continual review of control measures in place.
  6. Develop and deliver environmental training.
  7. Manage comprehensive environmental data reporting requirements upstream and downstream. Set KPIs that drive continual improvement and monitor performance of the project.
  8. Report and investigate environmental incidents and non-conformances, followed by working with the project leadership team to embed effective corrective actions.
  9. Provide technical advice to project design and delivery teams to identify and mitigate environmental risks and ensure most suitable practices are adopted.
Qualifications
  • Hold a degree in an appropriate environment or sustainability discipline.
Salary & Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is £80,000 - £120,000 per annum, depending on experience. We also offer a range of benefits including health insurance, pension scheme, and 25 days annual leave.
