**Job Summary**

We are seeking an exceptional candidate to join our Critical Care Directorate as a part-time Locum Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine. The successful candidate will work 5 sessions per week, based at University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, with some cover also provided at the nearby University Hospital Llandough.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Be on the GMC Specialist Register for Intensive Care Medicine and Emergency Medicine / Specialty Registrar with CCT / CESR (Combined Programme) due within 3 months of interview date
  • Hold a postgraduate ICM qualification, e.g. Postgraduate qualification in Emergency Medicine
  • Have echocardiography qualifications, e.g. Ultrasound qualification (CUSIC competent)
  • Have broad experience in adult critical care
  • Have experience of working in specialty critical care, e.g. neurosurgery, trauma
  • Have familiarity with inter-hospital transfer of critically ill patients
  • Have familiarity with ultrasound and/or Echo
  • Have broad training and experience in Emergency Medicine
  • Have experience of working in a major trauma centre / Pre-hospital emergency medicine
  • Have evidence of teaching medical students and junior doctors
  • Have evidence of participation in clinical audit and understanding role of audit in improving medical practice
