About the Role:

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children with ASD in both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. You'll be working closely with class teachers and the school's SENCO to ensure each child is able to reach their full potential.

This is a full-time, long-term role where you will form lasting connections with students, providing one-on-one support as well as working with small groups to help them access the curriculum and develop key social and emotional skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to children with ASD across Key Stage 1 and 2.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of tailored learning programs.
  • Help manage challenging behaviours in a positive and effective manner.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and SEN specialists to ensure individual education plans (IEPs) are followed and adapted as needed.
  • Promote social and emotional development through a variety of learning activities and play-based approaches.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs (preferably ASD).
  • A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children to achieve their full potential.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work full-time and commit to a long-term role.
