About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled PhD Educated Chemist to join our team at Mansell Recruitment Group. As a Chemical Process Engineer, you will be responsible for refining existing products to make them more efficient to manufacture, with possibly less components or less labor required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Refine existing products to make them more efficient to manufacture
  • Make samples of new products, for clients and for certification
  • Write new working instructions for the new products, then train the staff on them
  • Update old working instructions into our new format
  • Write risk assessments for various processes
  • Review and assess all processes with ops manager and H&S manager for safety and efficiency
  • Test our products on machines for friction, ESD and impact sensitivity
  • Audit of chemical and explosives stores on site
  • Burn waste products in a safe environment following our waste protocol
Requirements
  • PhD in Chemistry or related field
  • At least a year's experience in a commercial environment
  • Experience writing documentation and work instructions for new products
