About the Role

The Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Haematology Consultant to join our team. As a Clinical Lead, you will be responsible for providing continuing responsibility for patients in your charge and working in partnership with colleagues to ensure the proper function of the department and hospital.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend relevant multi-disciplinary team meetings to ensure effective communication and collaboration with colleagues.
  • Undertake administrative duties associated with the care of patients and the running of outpatient clinics, ensuring a high level of patient satisfaction and care.
  • Contribute to the leadership and development of Haematology services, aligning with the Trust's business plans for quality activity and business targets.
  • Ensure that all staff work within the Trust's framework for corporate governance, including standing orders, standing financial instructions, and financial procedures.
  • Promote interdisciplinary team working between departments and services across the Trust.
  • Contribute to effective communication and involvement of staff across the Clinical Service Unit, supporting the Service Manager and Head of Nursing to achieve their objectives.
  • Participate in multi-professional and undergraduate and post-graduate education, including teaching, examination, and accreditation duties as required, across the Division.

Person Specification

Essential

  • CCT Qualification or within 6 months of CCT date.
  • Clinical Haematology experience.
  • Laboratory experience.

Desirable

  • Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists.
  • Fellowship of the Royal College of Medicine.

Skills

Essential

  • Excellent communication skills; proven ability to differentiate as required.
