Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Permitting Expert to join our Pre-Construction team in Amazon UK Services Ltd. - A10. As a key member of our Design and Construction team, you will be responsible for evaluating and advising on permitting processes for complex industrial projects across the EU.

About the Role

You will assume a centralized function and evaluate permitting processes for cross-functional industrial opportunities, from shortlisting to construction completion. You will advise on the best approach to manage Amazon designs to be compliant with local and internal regulations, review and standardize permitting documents, follow up on changes for new and retrofit sites, and insist on the highest standards from yourself and others.

You will evaluate Due Diligences, local regulations, draft and track schedules, and forecast fundamental components, including identifying and solving factors that may impede a successful permitted project hand-over to Amazon stakeholders.

You will be a key participant in site selection process, reviewing available information and providing permitting strategy. You will push to improve and coach project teams who are creating permit documentation, ensuring permits are fit for operational requirements.

What We Offer

As a Senior Permitting Expert, you will have the opportunity to work on global logistics projects, travel up to 20% within assigned regions, and leverage your experience and tools to understand where gaps exist in project plans and propose solutions.

You will drive significant communication across departments, serve as an authority on project issues, and negotiate strategies of permitting with developers and local and regional technicians and consultants, representing Amazon's interests.

Daily tasks may include site validation, due diligence, and risk analysis, stakeholders alignment, and jurisdictional coordination. You will act as the primary escalation point for the evaluation of the feasibility of potential future projects by team members, owning and tracking issues to ensure they are addressed, documented, and resolved.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need a Bachelor's degree in Urban Development, Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a comparable field, solid demonstrable urban development understanding, and experience in project management, real estate development, architecture/design.

You will also require professional fluency in English, ability to travel up to 20% within assigned regions, and basic working knowledge in BIM and MS Office applications. German, French, Polish, Arabic, Turkish are considered preferred qualifications.

A competitive salary of around £80,000 - £100,000 per year, depending on location and experience, is offered for this position.
