Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Band 5 staff nurse to join our nursing team in the outpatients' department at Lincoln County Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to achieve excellent outcomes.

The outpatients' department manages various clinics, including dermatology, ENT, urology investigations, and ophthalmology. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work within the wider outpatient team, covering clinics 1-4, 7, medical day unit, rheumatology, breast, and 11 (orthopaedics).

Main Duties
  • Deliver high-quality patient care, centred on the patient's needs and in line with the Trust's values and standards.
  • Support the outpatient department team to achieve a high standard of evidence-based care, procedures, and treatment specific to the clinical need.
  • Demonstrate a sound knowledge of infection and prevention control, adhering to high standards when performing aseptic non-touch technique and complying with the Trust's infection and prevention control policies.
  • Ensure compliance with all local policies and guidelines, including consent, chaperone, WHO checklist, COSHH, and information governance.
  • Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to maintain excellent and effective communication.
Person Specification
  • Current NMC registration
  • Nursing degree or equivalent
  • Nursing mentor live on NMC register
Previous Experience
  • Demonstrates the ability to implement and sustain high levels of individualised, evidence-based, clinically effective care
  • Successful Completion of preceptorship
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Understands and can demonstrate good working practices within the safeguarding agenda
  • Ability to manage difficult or complex situations and to work under pressure
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workload
  • Commitment to ongoing personal and professional development
  • A willingness to act as a mentor for students
