Job Title: Senior Software Engineer

About Us:

Sirius Digital Services is a rapidly growing consultancy that provides software modelling and simulation services to various clients. We are looking for talented software engineers to join our team.

The Role:

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to play a major role in developing code for software modelling and simulation. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in designing and delivering software applications, including experience in one or more of the following technical disciplines: videogame engine technology, entity or event-based simulation, robotics, and autonomous systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Delivering technical consulting projects
  • Developing and delivering software solutions using a range of techniques
  • Building new relationships and maintaining current customer relationships
  • Applying mathematical and computational methods to tackle real-world problems

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in designing and delivering software applications
  • Experience in one or more of the following technical disciplines: videogame engine technology, entity or event-based simulation, robotics, and autonomous systems
  • Proficient in C/C++ or C# and Python
  • Apply mathematical principles or statistical approaches to solve problems in scientific or applied fields
  • Understand varied codebases and be confident in making changes to large projects
  • Understand performance and hardware constraints
  • Building customer and stakeholder relationships
  • Supporting and leading authoring of technical reports and presenting to customers

Desirable:

  • Experience working with Defence Digital, DE&S, Dstl, Frontline Commands, or UK Defence industry
  • Education to degree level or equivalent relevant experience
  • Strong STEM/computing background

Other Requirements:

  • Candidates must have an existing right to live and work in the UK
  • Candidates will need to undergo an internal BPSS check prior to gaining site access
  • Candidates will also need to either hold a current SC clearance or be willing and eligible to undergo a Security Clearance check (SC level) upon starting their employment with the company
