Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced registered nurse to join our team as a Deputy Sister and Clinical Educator on the Endoscopy Unit at United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the clinical education of staff in all areas of Endoscopy, Trust Core Learning, and the development of student nurses while on placement in this area. They will also deputise in the absence of the Sister and be responsible for managing and motivating staff.

Main Responsibilities

The Endoscopy Unit is open between 08:00hrs and 19:00hrs, 7 days a week. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in the Nurse 'On Call' Emergency Upper GI rota, which covers out-of-hours. They will be responsible for providing the highest standards of care to patients and relatives, ensuring privacy and dignity is maintained at all times.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years' recent experience in nursing patients within the speciality and senior nurse experience or experience taking charge/coordinating a clinical area. They will also have a range of experiences in nursing acute patients and be able to demonstrate an ability to assess and introduce change consistent with research evidence.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, expanded competencies, and evidence of assessing and supervising junior colleagues. They will also have awareness and knowledge of the dignity in care agenda and be able to articulate their own vision for the development of nursing and nurse-led initiatives within the ward.
