Job Title: Commercial Insurance Underwriter

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Insurance Underwriter to join our team in London. As a key member of our 7-strong Entertainment team, you will play a crucial role in managing all aspects of the Live Events portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the smooth and accurate administration of policies, working closely with other functions to maintain high operational standards.
  • Develop and strengthen commercial relationships with brokers and clients, driving business growth and enhancing our market reputation within the entertainment sector.
  • Underwrite new and renewal accounts to meet top and bottom-line targets in line with the underwriting strategy, with authority based on your experience.
  • Proactively prepare relevant underwriting information, including client and market research and claims data.
  • Assist in achieving contract certainty on all accounts at the time of inception.
  • Work with other functions, such as operations, credit control, MMC, ARC, and Claims.
  • Manage broker facilities, including checking and agreeing on policy documentation, administration, tracking policy progression, and broker follow-up.
Requirements:
  • At least 2 years of experience in the insurance industry, with a preference for underwriting expertise.
  • A degree-level education or actively pursuing a professional insurance qualification (preferred).
  • Strong commercial acumen and a strategic mindset.
  • Solid analytical skills, with the ability to assess complex data and make informed decisions.
  • A thorough understanding of the policy administration life cycle, including information collection, policy issuance, premium bookings, and credit control processes.
  • Familiarity with the legal and regulatory framework governing the insurance market.
  • Highly proficient in MS Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
