We are seeking a skilled Old Age Psychiatrist to join our team at Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to older adults who require specialist inpatient care.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and manage patients on Dunes ward, a 20-bedded complex care ward at Hartley Hospital.
- Work closely with the multidisciplinary team, including Social Services, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, and Primary Care, to deliver holistic care.
- Complete assessments and formulate treatment plans for service users admitted to Dunes ward from the community.
- Manage patients who have been detained under the Mental Health Act, requiring a sound knowledge of the Act and relevant documentation.
The ideal candidate will have excellent clinical skills, using a bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge. They will also possess strong oral and written communication skills in English and be able to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty.
Salary: £105,504 - £139,882 per annum (plus on-call and R&R)
