Salary Range:

The salary for this role is estimated to be between £48,000 and £65,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.

Job Description:

This is a key role within our Underwriting team, responsible for reviewing and recommending changes to underwriting acceptance rules and documentation. The successful candidate will have a sound understanding of underwriting and pricing principles, as well as excellent numeracy skills and the ability to interpret large quantities of data.

You will work closely with our Pricing team to recommend new enhancements or alterations to pricing or underwriting criteria. Your attention to detail and analytical skills will enable you to identify opportunities for improvement and implement changes that deliver profitable performance and optimise growth.

  • To review the underwriting acceptance rules and documentation and make underwriting changes/recommendations, as appropriate, to deliver profitable performance and optimise profitable growth.
  • To recommend new underwriting concepts, product covers and documentation by utilising market / legal / competitor analysis.
  • To work alongside the Pricing team by recommending new enhancements or alterations to pricing or underwriting criteria.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

We are looking for someone with the following skills and qualifications:

  • A sound understanding of underwriting and pricing principles and experience of a wide range of technical issues affecting the Insurance Market.
  • A very high degree of numeracy with a strong ability to analyse and interpret large quantities of data.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to both internal and external stakeholders.
