About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Elysium Healthcare. As a key member of our Medical Directorate, you will play a vital role in providing clinical leadership and expertise in the care and treatment of patients with complex mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and guidance to multidisciplinary teams in the development and implementation of care plans and treatments for patients with complex mental health needs.
  • Manage complex cases and formulate treatment plans in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
  • Advise on psychiatric and medical issues within the unit and contribute to the development of clinical policies and procedures.
  • Liaise with care co-ordinators, commissioners, families, and carers to ensure seamless care and treatment for patients.
  • Develop and review clinical policies and procedures to meet the requirements of statutory bodies.
  • Implement the Mental Health Act and liaise with the Ministry of Justice as required.
  • Undertake administrative duties associated with patient care, including ensuring compliance with NHSE contractual obligations.
  • Maintain professional registration with the General Medical Council and adhere to professional codes of conduct.
Requirements
  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • Full GMC registration with a licence to practice.
  • MRCPsych or equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
  • Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients.
  • Section 12(2) approval to work in England and Approved clinician status.
  • Experience in General Adult settings and working in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience of working in acute inpatient or community settings, ideally inpatient settings, and experience in risk assessment and risk management.
