Job Introduction

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Tunnel Engineer to join our team on the HS2 project. As a key member of our site operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of the SCL works on site, while managing aspects of time, cost, and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Sub Agent and Shift Manager in setting up and undertaking the SCL works.
  • Responsible for the SCL works on site, including checking the excavation is within tolerance, directing the thickness of the sprayed concrete lining, and preparing and completing checksheets to record all details related to the SCL works.
  • Ensure the works are conducted in accordance with the project requirements, including health and safety, and report any non-conformances to the shift manager or supervisor.
  • Keep a full and accurate daily site diary, including any changes/variations, subcontractors' attendance, and records of work-related discussions with client/designer/RE/project team.
  • Prepare Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), Plans, and Procedures for the construction works, with assistance as needed.
  • Work with the construction and quality teams to complete Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) for the control of the works, ensuring all necessary documentation and checksheets are produced in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all setting-out and quality control procedures are performed in a timely and efficient manner, without impeding the construction programme.
  • Understand and implement the Client and Joint Venture Partners' Environment and Sustainability Policies, Processes, and statutory requirements as they affect the company's operations.
Requirements:
  • CSCS card.
  • Engineering Degree/HNC or similar in a construction discipline.
  • Tunnel Safety Training Scheme (TSTS) desired but will be provided.
