We are seeking an experienced Educational Support Assistant to join our team at a special academy in Huddersfield. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and other support staff to create a stimulating and safe learning environment for students with complex Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties.

The academy prides itself on its nurturing approach, social pedagogy, and focus on preparing students for adulthood. As part of this dedicated team, the successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the education and well-being of students, helping them to achieve their potential and reach their full academic and personal abilities.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a school or similar setting, ideally with children or young people with SEN or SEMH needs. They will also hold GCSE qualifications in Maths and English (or equivalent) and be a car driver with access to their own vehicle (or willing to learn). A salary of £21,903.70 (actual annual salary) is offered for 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, term-time only (plus 5 inset days).

As an Educational Support Assistant, you will be responsible for providing classroom support, maintaining pupil records, leading specific activities and sessions, and providing structured learning routines at school, in the community, and at home. You will also build meaningful relationships with students, help them navigate towards a brighter future, and make connections that matter.
