About Dayshape

We're a leading enterprise software company scaling up our cloud platform to meet the demands of an increasing client base. Our clients include top accountancy firms and global organizations, and we're looking for a skilled engineer to join our Site Reliability Engineering team.

The successful candidate will lead initiatives to enhance our cloud platform's scalability, maintain and improve our cloud estate in Azure, and improve SRE and other teams' working lives through automation of manual tasks. They will also be responsible for making the deployment of Dayshape more scalable, increasing knowledge sharing of SRE across the organization, improving observability of Dayshape through reporting and tool creation, driving improvements to our Cost of Giving Service (COGS), and diagnosing and triaging escalated issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead initiatives to enhance Dayshape's cloud platform scalability
  • Maintain and improve our cloud estate in Azure
  • Automate manual tasks for SRE and other teams
  • Make deployment of Dayshape more scalable
  • Increase SRE knowledge sharing across the organization
  • Improve observability of Dayshape through reporting and tool creation
  • Drive improvements to our Cost of Giving Service (COGS)
  • Diagnose and triage escalated issues

Requirements

  • Significant experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • Delivered IaC frameworks that can be contributed to by other engineering teams
  • Understanding of patterns and practices required to deliver reliable, high-quality results
  • Writing and debugging Python code
  • IaC toolset proficiency in Pulumi or Terraform
  • Designed and built infrastructure using Azure
  • Collaboration skills with engineering teams and customer-facing teams

Working Details

This is a full-time role with usual hours of 35 hours per week. We typically work from 09:00 - 17:30 from Monday to Friday, though this role will also be required to cover some maintenance windows out of these hours, as well as on-call rotation for out of hours major incidents.

This is a remote or hybrid role, and our office is in Edinburgh, but you are welcome to come in when you want to, but it is not required.
