Management Accountant Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Management Accountant to join our team at Hewett Recruitment. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for overseeing the accounts function for our group and its subsidiary companies.

The Role

As a Management Accountant, you will report directly to the Director and play a crucial part in managing day-to-day financial operations. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing audit information and assisting with management accounts
  • Handling Sales, Purchase, and Nominal Ledgers
  • Managing Cash Book and Credit Control
  • Processing foreign payments and working with multiple currencies
  • Raising customer invoices and credits
  • Assisting with supplier payment runs, including international transactions
  • Maintaining strong supplier relationships and processing invoices
  • Generating monthly statements for customers
  • Managing petty cash
Core Competencies

  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility to adapt to shifting work priorities
  • Proficiency with financial tools and accounting software
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel
Essential Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Minimum Level 4 AAT qualification or equivalent
  • At least 3 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Driving licence and access to your own vehicle
  • Strong administrative and software skills
Preferred Experience

Knowledge of Xero and Sage would be a significant advantage.
