Quantity Surveyor Job Description

The role of a Quantity Surveyor at SSA Recruitment involves providing commercial support to project teams, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and maintaining accurate and timely cost and value reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with customer representatives and other third parties on commercial issues, including agreement of variations, claims, and additional payments.
  • Ensure robust, accurate, and timely cost and value reporting at both project and business levels.
  • Carry out cost management, including forecasting, and update the monthly CVR, cost, and commercial plans.
  • Help ensure that internal commercial processes are adhered to across the business unit and actively seek to improve processes and procedures.
  • Be responsible for subcontract letting, negotiation, and financial accounting, and prepare applications for payment.
  • Liaise with clients on commercial issues and contribute towards effective interactions between the Commercial Team and operational site teams.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in the construction industry.
  • HND / Degree (or equivalent in Quantity Surveying).
  • Familiarity with ICE/NEC forms of contract and knowledge of Construction Law.
  • Previous experience in commercial management and procurement of subcontractors.
  • Ability to demonstrate a good knowledge of monthly reporting and earned value analysis.
  • Have knowledge and experience in estimation and cost analysis.
