About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Band 7 Ward Manager to join our team at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the nursing team on Ward F9, a 20-bedded elective surgical ward, and the surgical admissions lounge.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the nursing team to deliver high-quality patient care and maintain clinical standards.
  • Manage and coordinate staff, budget, and resources to ensure efficient ward operations.
  • Collaborate with the Matron and other stakeholders to shape future services and improve patient outcomes.
  • Develop and implement effective change management strategies to drive quality improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with trust policies and procedures, and maintain accurate records.

Requirements

  • Substantial experience at Band 6 Grade in an acute hospital setting.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire the team.
  • Recent evidence of continuing professional and personal development, with a focus on clinical leadership and quality improvement.
  • Implementation of audit and research recommendations to drive quality improvement.
  • Experience of change management and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
