Job Title: Commissioning Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Commissioning Engineer to join our team at Venatu Recruitment Group. As a Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the commissioning of electrical, PLC, and drives systems for onshore and offshore operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee tenders, offers, design, and engineering within your discipline.
  • Provide technical support for electrical, PLC & Drives systems and troubleshoot faults.
  • Develop and review PLC & Drives specifications, logic tables, and FDS documents.
  • Prepare comprehensive automation project documentation and certification packages.
  • Craft PLC logic flow/process charts to facilitate efficient fault-finding.
  • Conduct Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) procedures and run FAT with client witness.
  • Retrieve PLC & drives programming code for reverse engineering or upgrading.
  • Design and code electrical and PLC systems for onshore and offshore cranes and lifting equipment.
  • Manage all technical and commercial aspects of projects.
  • Undertake offshore and onshore surveys and project work scopes.
  • Ensure compliance with HSEQ policies, safety management systems, and industry regulations.
  • Identify and implement safe work methods and systems, with a focus on hazard identification.
  • Plan and organise client work processes with a strong emphasis on safety and environmental considerations.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge and experience in coding on Siemens systems.
  • Experience with Siemens drive systems, especially S120.
  • Familiarity with SCADA systems.
  • Strong managerial and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently with a methodical, dynamic approach.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Onshore crane and lifting experience (preferred, not essential).
  • Understanding of Ports operations.
  • Sound IT skills, including MS Project, Excel, and Word.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in the design and/or maintenance of electrical, PLC & drives systems.
