Employee Relations Advisor Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the HR Business Partner in providing generalist, proactive support on employee relations issues.
  • Provide an efficient service for employees requiring guidance, help, and advice on Company policies and procedures and Employment legislation.
  • Create a positive employee relations approach by supporting, coaching, and upskilling Managers to fulfill their people management responsibilities.
  • Provide operational support and advice on employee relations matters, such as disciplinary, grievance, appeals, and redundancy consultation processes.
  • Proactively deal with absence management, assisting with the identification and resolution of problematic cases and long-term sickness issues.
  • Manage an allocated employee relations case load.
  • Assist the team in supporting departments/teams through organisational change and embedding new structures and processes.
  • Maintain employment legislation knowledge to provide sound guidance and expertise to management.
  • Work with the Management team to drive performance on key people metrics.

Requirements

  • Proven track record in a similar ER/HR role.
  • Experience of handling ER cases, including disciplinary and grievance, appeals, absence management, and redundancy.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of employment legislation, including GDPR.
  • High level of discretion and confidentiality.
  • Resilient, flexible, assertive, and confident in approach.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise a busy and varied workload.
  • Excellent stakeholder, people, and change management skills.
  • Good analytical and systems skills.
  • Customer-focused approach.
  • Problem-solving ability in a fast-paced business.

What's Next?

Our Recruitment Team will review applications, and all candidates will receive a response, whether successful or unsuccessful. Shortlisted applicants may be asked to confirm a few key details before being booked in for a first-stage interview with the Recruiter, which will be behaviourally focussed and centred around how you align with our Culture and Values. If successful, we anticipate two further interview stages with the Hiring Manager/wider team, which will be more technically focussed and could include a presentation/task to see your skills in action.
