Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Naval Architect to join our team in driving engineering design and analysis for our client's innovative marine technology portfolio. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and enhancing concept designs, executing advanced design tasks, and contributing technical insights to support business development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and enhance concept designs for above and below water systems, including stabilisation, structural performance, and hydrofoil design.
  • Execute advanced design tasks using 2D and 3D CAD tools, specifically Siemens NX, Rhino, and AutoCAD.
  • Engage in high-performance structural design applying both first principles and Finite Element Analysis via Simcenter 3D.
  • Assess and interpret specialist subcontractor analyses, including Computational Fluid Dynamics.
  • Specify and select machinery and equipment, coupled with a clear definition of manufacturing strategies.
  • Contribute technical insights to support the business development team with proposals.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to junior team members.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrable expertise in Naval Architecture complemented by proficiency in CAD software such as Siemens NX and AutoCAD.
  • A solid understanding of hydrodynamics, foil design, stability analysis, and structural calculations.
  • Experience in using FEA (Finite Element Analysis) tools for structure performance assessments.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams, ensuring optimal integration of systems.
  • Strong analytical skills and the capacity to interpret technical data and analysis from third-party sources effectively.
  • Excellent communication abilities, capable of conveying complex technical details effectively across various stakeholders.
