Job Title: Site Engineer - Biomass Steam Heating Systems

We are seeking a highly skilled Site Engineer to join our Industrial Biomass team at our site in Stowmarket. As a Site Engineer, you will be responsible for undertaking planned and reactive maintenance on biomass steam heating systems and associated equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Undertake planned maintenance, attendance, testing, and record keeping to ensure compliance with statutory regulations and industry good practice.
  • Facilitate the biomass fuel supply to the site, receiving deliveries, testing, and recording results.
  • Ensure optimal and continuous operation of mechanical systems by performing routine inspections and maintenance.
  • Monitor feed water and emissions quality.
  • Ensure a high level of health and safety management on site, encouraging a strong health and safety culture and adherence with legislation and Company policies.
Requirements:
  • HSEQ operator level training (e.g. safety passport/CSCS card), and training on completing site risk assessment/method statements.
  • Mechanical/Engineering educational qualification (C&G, HNC, NVQ or equivalent).
  • Experience in working on heat and steam generating plant and equipment within large industrial sites with a continual heat demand and LTHW and steam systems.

Working Hours:

The site operates 7 days a week (8am to 5pm) and the role will require weekend working, and out of hours on call, on a rota/shift pattern respond to heating outages, loss of service or emergencies as required.

This will also include periodic remote performance monitoring of the system during out of hours periods by the on-call engineer.

Average of 40 paid hours per week (excluding breaks). Annualised hours start date 1st January each year.
